Achteras 740 gewisseld met 940 Probleem.

Nu wil ik het topic niet stelen, ik probeer slechts aan te haken op het onderwerp, misschien heeft de topic starter er ook iets aan. Als ik door het gat van de km-tellersensor kijk, zie ik dit. Herken ik hier een 48-versie?

O, foto lukt niet...
Op de foto zie je door het gat een flink aantal ribben die voor de sensor langs gaan. 740 zonder abs uit eind 88.

Ik zie dat mijn foto het nu wel doet?!
Dank voor je reactie. Het lijkt er op dat dit hetzelfde is! Dat is mooi, dan kan er dus een 940 as onder mijn 740 uit 88.

Op de foto van leidsekade tel ik 12 tanden op ongeveer een kwart van het wiel, dus 48 in totaal? Ik denk dat de tanden op de foto door het gat van de sensor 2x zo dicht op elkaar zitten?

dat met abs uitgevoerde wagens een 48 tands systeem hebben.
Denk ook aan de ABS ringen op de vooras.
ABS heeft immers veel pulsen nodig.
Op de foto van Ben kan ik niets herleiden.
Maar als je 48 hebt en naar 12 moet dan is dat goed te doen met een dremel.

Going totally off-topic, just for Kay, how to convert a speedo that expects pulses from a diff with a 96 tooth reluctor ring (1988 models with ABS) to read correctly on a 48 tooth diff :

A bit brutal but SMD has never been my thing, even 30 years ago and time and other things mean my paws are no longer steady enough so i had to blob the solder on instead. It's linking pins 9, 10 and 11 on that chip, 10 is N/C so doesn't matter but pin 9 is the Q3 output from a binary ripple counter chip and pin 11 is Q2 output, in other words, Q3 = divide by 8 and Q2 = divide by 4 (2 to the power of 3 and 2 respectively) so the same technique could be used to fit a 48 tooth axle to an originally 12 tooth axled car in theory.
Just the ABS ECU to convert now! That's still expecting 96 pulses per turn as well!

Daar las ik vandaag dit

THe speedo was originally designed to work with a 12 tooth rin, as per earlier 7xx models without ABS so they had Bosch design and build an ABS converter which taps off the signal from the rear sensor and divides it by 8 (96/12 = to make the speedo read correctly. Bypassing the converter on the new axle had it reading 4 x the real speed (48/12 = 4) which gave me a clue to what the converter was doing - dividing ny 8 to give the correct number of pulses to the speedo from a 96 tooth reluctor ring triggering the speed/ABS sensor in the diff.
Now it only has 48 teeth, it showed half the speed.

Pulling the converter out and investigating the insides of it i found a divide by n counter where n is 2 to the power of the bit number used for the output. On the main chip, the 4024, there are 8 output bits, from 2^0 (=1) to 2^7 (128) and the 3rd output bit (2^3 = was used on pin #9 of the chip. That in turn was linked to the op-amp so i cut the track and soldered a coper link wire to the op-amp side of the cut and the other end to pin #11, 2^2 (4) as the output so the input frequency is divided by 4 now instead of 8, correcting the speedo.

First problem solved!

Er zijn maar weinig 740s met zo'n converter.
