my volvo

people i bought v90..
it is soooo beautifull..it was that one from marktplaats and the reason why he was so "cheap" was that the guy who was selling it has some kind of garage for fixing car after crashes and  i guess everybody presumed that v90 was also chrashed..but it wasnt..it look and drives and shifts brilliantly..it has some flaws but of course i'll expact that from 16 year old car..
leather is excellent..only alcantara pieces is on drivers seat worn out..
it is so bom vol with extras i cant even think of everything it has...speakers in B and C pillars(trunk)..achterportier gordijnen..sun roof electic..nivomates(althow i dont prefer them but since they are here let them stay)..of course LPG(cant afford drivin on benzine)..of course with all usual extras as cruise control, automaat, wooden interior, leather seats with alcantara, everything electric powered windows and so on,...
some things has to be fixed but theres no rush..for now accu is changed and airco is filled and auto is checked with my mechanic to be safe on the road..back passinger window isnt working..there is small damage on rear right wheel arc..remote could use refreshin(buyin new better one but everybody says its not possible so i'll ask around here for some usefull advice)..and so on and so on...
but overall car is unbelievebly brilliant for money we paid..
hope that i'll find more time to be more active here, couse with biiig family theres not much time after whole day of work..
and as soon as i find how to put photos i'll show couple of them..

Congratulations with the new V90. I hope you will enjoy it!Remotes are (very) difficult to get hands on, so if you have the change to buy extra ones you should do it. But be carefull, there are some variaties and not all will work.

basicly i dont understand why cant i buy just housing from some universal model with flip key(i just want it like that) and put chip from my remote in that one..
why is that impossible??????

There are 2 things: The immobilizer and the alarm system.The immobilizer system is based on a chip in the key (the key itself) and an antenna ring in the steering column. The antenna detects/recognizes the right key and enables the engine to start. You can open the original key, remove the chip and put in a VW-look-a-like key . For the alarm system (with remote control of door locks) you have a separate remote, so this will not be a problem. When i said remotes are difficult to get, i meant these remots (for door locks).

I have key without chip..
than I have a remote with only two buttons but only one is used for lock/unlock car, and other button I have no idea what is it for..no metter how much I press it I can't figure out what is it's purpose..nothing happens..
than I have some small thing which I think is chip to unblock engine and shuts down alarm when it goes off..it is a small thingy with nothing on it but it's  connecting to small other thingy that's on dash board..
so I don't know how clear is what I wrote but I'm totally confused with the whole system..
and would really like to have a simple remote that has all in one..no appart key appart remote and appart immobilizer..already couple times I had to jump in car to shut down alarm, at least I know it's workin very loud and well hehe..but my point is that it's not handy when i have to hold two small babies in my hands and than shit start to make so much noise that even kids in Norway start to cry..

Would probably be best to post some pictures of all your remotes, keys and thingies :)I have only experience with the late 940 and expected the system to be similar for the V90: Immobilizer with chip in key and a remote for door locks. The remote either part of a Volvo alarm system or aftermarket remote control. But i guess you know what they say about assumption.... (the mother of all fuck-ups)It seems to me that you have some kind of aftermarket immobilizer/start inhibitor, Volvo alarm/remote control for door locking and key without chip? I'm not familiar with the V90, maybe someone who drives a V90 can help you.

I'd like to put some photos but there's no option on my mobile to put them..
My cars combination of key/remote/immobilizer is obviously not original..but that's not a problem as long as it's workin good..and remote is nowhere near original..it's some small round one..no bigger than one euro coin..go figure..

Original Volvo remotes (for alarm/door locks) are larger, and square/rectangular. But how do you know you don't have the chips in the key(s)?

key it self..it looks like dog eat it..
and yes i know about original v90 remotes..thats why i want flip key..but as things looks now i'd be more than happy even with original as long as its workin fine..
