Quiz-vraag: Welk model is dit?

dat wordt hoogste tijd wwant het is natuurlijk de ultieme "spot the Volvo" film
maar de voortekenen zijn redelijk qualitate qua, maar het is natuurlijk wel een "wijvenfilm" zoals dat bij ons thuis heet.

After seeing '101 Ways' at a screening in New Haven earlier this year, I'm glad to hear that it will be available to a cable audience. <u>This film deserves attention</u>. The lead character Watson is a smart, funny writer who escapes New York for a change of pace in the suburbs of Connecticut. She finds it difficult to find a job that will support not only her writing, but her new love, a brand new Volvo that her mother insists she buy. I loved the sequence that features Watson waiting on corporate spies at the 'Tarnished Barge' restaurant, which I hear from New Haven insiders is actually a place near Long Wharf called 'The Rusty Scupper'.
Nowhere has the inanity of restaurant work been so comically rendered. Watson's romantic escapades are endearing--this is a 'portrait of the artist' for the new millenium, complete with bogus phone sex jobs and a luxury Swedish vehicle. Kudos to first-time director Jennifer Katz and her demystification of the fantasy that all New York artists have that the living is easier .

101 ways? I only count two: waitressing and being a phone sex operator. Jennifer B. Katz's lighthearted fable about love and bankruptcy is amusing and lightly entertaining, though its heroine Watson (Wendy Hoopes, best known as the voice of Jane and Quinn on MTV's Daria) isn't entirely sympathetic. When she isn't making eyes at the local grocery store cashier (Glenn Fitzgerald), poor Watson is trying to make ends meet. She can't hold a job -- whether that's waitressing or phone sex -- and mom won't help her out. Oh, and she wants to be a writer -- original, huh? And there you have the movie 101 Ways in a nutshell. <u>Not terribly empowering, not terribly funny, not terrible believable, and almost wholly inoffensive, </u>Hoopes and Katz don't generate much emotion but they make us giggle from time to time. <u>It's a fair enough entry into the slacker genre of filmmaking, though its pretty much unmemorable. </u>

101 Ways (The Things a Girl Will Do to Keep Her Volvo)

De film is wel leuk om te kijken maar heeft verder weinig historische waarde zal ik maar zeggen. Gewoon leuk tijdverdrijf, alhoewel ik denk dat de film beter op zijn plek is op het 850/V70 forum.
De hoofdrolspeelster krijgt van mams een brandnew V70 cadeau, omdat zij na veel rondvragen en informatie gewezen werd op het feit dat een Volvo veruit de veiligste auto en ze tenslotte alleen het beste goed genoeg vindt.
Enige puntje is dat dochterlief wel zelf de afbetaling (raar cadeau? niet?) moet regelen en daar gaat het mis.Vandaar de titel, want in de film komt naar voren dat ze bereid is alles te doen, om de Volvo te behouden.Jammergenoeg, is er dus een V70 in de film gebruikt maar staat er op de DVD een stukje "the-making-of" waarin de bedoelde auto van de foto wel terug komt.
Het is dus, om er op terug te komen, een beige Volvo 940 van modeljaar 1994 met een kentekenplaat van 1996. 
Het is dus niet geraden, helaas, geen koelkast...................volgende keer beter
Overigens is de 940 in kwestie in de film (en ook op de eerste foto) voorzien van wieldoppen en dus geen lichtmetaal en al helemaal geen Aries-velg.....foei Willem.....
