I am sending this email to alert you that some items we have had trouble keeping in stock are now in stock. These include our newly redesigned B20 exhaust headers and our progressive rate suspension springs for the 122, 1800 and 140. These items are available in limited quantities and tend to sell out quickly, so if you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible. <br>
The Weber factory has been closed and new Weber carbs have not been available for most of this year. Fortunately, and for totally unrelated reasons, we have been working on alternative SU replacements. By the end of the month we will be offering a new carb kit consisting of Mikuni carbs which will be direct replacements for SU's on the original SU manifolds. We feel that these carbs will become the preferred option to replace SU carbs, downdraft Webers, and sidedraft Webers with significant advantages over all three. No longer will you have to chose between a replacement carb that will give you better fuel economy and ones that will support higher horsepower - these will do both. Essentially, replacing Webers or SUs with these Mikunis is the equivalent of replacing designs that were frozen in time 30 or 50 years ago with a design that has continued to evolve and improve right up to the present day. In essence, the Mikuni flat slide carbs we are using are the equivalent of SU carbs that have benefitted from 50 years of development work, and the performance improvements they can provide reflect that. Introductory price of the kit with linkage but without air filters is $695. Photos of the Mikunis on a 544 and the kit components are attached.
