Which renault engines fits in volvo 340?

I wonder if you can put any
C-type "C?on-Fonte"
F-Type
E-Type "Energy engine"
K-Type

in any 340 with B14, B172 and D16?

Will they fit the bellhousing and the engine mounts without modification?

What I have understood is that if you have a:

340 1.4: C-type engines will fit bolt on
340 1.7 or 1.6D: F-type engines will fit bolt on
340/360 2.0 all redblock volvo engines will fit.

How about K-type engines and E-type engines?


I have a 343 1980 with b14. And I aim to convert to a F8Q diesel (from a kangoo)

so I need the bellhousing, engine mounts and oil sump. form a volvo 340 with b17/b17/D16 Do I need any thing else? oil pump?


340 with 1.7 and 1.6D is very uncommon in Sweden. 360 is the most common. So I want to purchase engine mounts and sump from a b17. Do you know how to get them?

yes but you also need a 360 as a donor vehicle for the engine mounts, bellhousing-torquetube and transmission, the sump + oil pump of a 360

there aren't many people converting to K or E series engines because they aren't a big increase in power over the original

to make the engine fit you at least need the sump, oil pump, engine mounts and bellhousing of the 340 1.7. it is possible you also need coolant hoses, alternator brackets etc.. of this engine, modifying the kangoo parts or fabricating new parts is also possible it's easyer to start with both engines next to eachother to see what will work., you will also need some other kangoo parts like the diesel pre-pump and filter and modify the wiring for the glow plugs etc..
